Led by the Norwich Historical Society and working in collaboration with a number of local organizations, America’s 250th Norwich Connecticut was created to help celebrate America’s Semiquincentennial. We are recognized as an affiliate member of the America 250| CT Commission
Mission and Vision:
The mission of our committee it to promote and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and Declaration of Independence by focusing on the rich revolutionary history of the greater Norwich area.
We aim to bring awareness and inclusive recognition to the major aspects of Norwich history that contributed to the development of American ideals as well as to the indigenous, immigrant, and African American communities between 1775-1783.

America250 is a nonpartisan initiative working to engage every American in commemorating the 250th anniversary of our country. This multi-year effort, from now through July 4, 2026, is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look ahead toward the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond.
